Calvary Preschool: 50 Years of Caring for Children
Calvary Presbyterian Church has sponsored Calvary Preschool since the preschool was established in 1959. The church considers the preschool to be an outreach of support to its members and to the community. It is not the intention of the preschool to instruct the children in any particular religious doctrine, but to share with them the experience of what it means to be a child of God through fellowship and peacefully living in the greater community of humanity. Neither religious doctrine or partisan politics are taught in the classroom.
Calvary Preschool seeks to provide a child-centered integrated curriculum where a child may grow to be well-rounded - intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. Loving interactions with others and play are viewed as the primary means for healthy development in young children. The foremost goal is to provide a preschool experience that prepares children for future success, both in school and in life, by showing them how to solve problems, get along with others and be competent and responsible individuals.
